Got my paycheck today. Somebody decorated it with cool tape.
It's from CANADA.
Yeah. Yeah. The year came to an end and I haven't updated my blog. The thing is, in my REAL JOB, I get money for writing. You get me for the LOVE. Internet porn has been good to me. Just got back from the big show in Vegas. Lots of tits and tales there. These trade conventions are a blast but I don't go often. I prefer my semi-reclusive lifestyle. I have the kind of job description that doesn't go over well at the grocery store. Most adult webmasters usually say they're in Internet marketing.
I don't feel too bad because I get to tell people that I'm a writer. When they ask what I write, I tell them I'm a technical writer. That usually shuts them up.
Well I saw the big speech last night. I watched Gomer but I had more fun watching the crowd. A live audience is a dangerous thing. I'm praying that the kids at the Daily Show will do a bit about it this evening. Bush paused at two points in his speech last night and oppositionists took advantage. The first time he said something like: "The Patriot Act will run out next year..." AUDIENCE APPLAUSE. Then later, he said something to the effect of: "My tax cut is not permanent..." AUDIENCE APPLAUSE. We held a drinking game for the this year's Presidential State of the Union address. One sip for each time Bush said terrorist and two sips for each time he said the word security. I went through two beers and gave up because I wasn't having fun.
A lot of the Republicans at last night's Joint Session didn't look like they were having much fun either.
I want to get back to what I was telling you before, about Acacia Research and their attempts to license a broad DMT patent. I will. The story is kind of at a standstill because the relative parties are waiting to appear in court. I will say it was very interesting that PPV Networks shared a booth in Vegas with Real Networks. In fact, if you look at the PPV site, you'll notice this text: "Experts form Real Networks will be available to discuss protecting your digital rights and their latest codecs!" Of course they wouldn't say anything to me because I introduced myself as a member of the press. You see, I asked the kids on the Real Networks half of the booth to give me an opinion on the Acacia Patent. I saw a lot of bowed heads and inward grins, but no comment.
Ah well.
"During this year's Super Bowl, you'll see ads sponsored by beer companies, tobacco companies, and the Bush White House. But you won't see the winning ad in MoveOn.org Voter Fund's Bush in 30 Seconds ad contest. CBS refuses to air it..."
