Pulp Friction

Welcome Wonketteers!

After reading Bob Woodward’s book, State of Denial, it was fairly evident that Donald Rumsfeld destroyed the Pentagon in order to save it. (Love ya, Peter Arnett) What I couldn’t quite figure out was why Dubya allowed him to get away with it. I realize our former president was good at avoiding his responsibilities but he was also a vindictive motherfucker with a serious hard on for a Saddam-free Iraq. This was the man who never let us forget that he was the decider-in-chief. Letting Rummy screw it up just didn’t make sense.

Then, GQ published some of Rumsfeld’s bible-verse war report cover sheets. Now, it makes sense. Bush probably creamed in his crocks each time old Don handed him one of those things.

I learned several disgusting things when I read Robert Draper’s accompanying article on old Don. Here are two of them:

1) Donald Rumsfeld is a cynical, conniving, fucked up, suck up

2) Microsoft Word is evil

Yeah Brendan, the Bush WH was totally in the pocket of MS Office. I guess seeing those cover sheets just brought the reality home.

Wait, you didn’t know that about Rumsfeld and Word before now? Where have you been for the past decade?

Also, nice picture. And, sadly, so appropriate.
